This is by far the dumbest anime production decision i’ve ever heard of. Why waste a quarter million dollars animating 5+ episodes that are exactly the same? (NO, subtle differences do not justify spending gratuitous amounts of money per episode!)
I haven’t skipped so many parts of an episode since watching shows with recap eps. Thanks chihiro for the episode and lets all hope that the next one will finish this arc…

If you want to get past this story arc, just read the books. Then you’d know that (classified information) just needs to (classified information) at the (classified information) and then (classified information) at the end. I’ve been waiting for that since the first episode!
How can any serious company release bullshit like this? I mean its not that bad that they rewind it once. But showing the same thing 4 times? I wonder what the were thinking.
The novel had only one iteration, which kinda made the ending a bit lacking in punch. The idea of repeating the story a few times with some differences help to highlight Yuki’s speech about the differences in each iteration of time, but they went way overboard on the anime. In the novel this story arc is only 45 pages long! Hardly deserving of this many episodes.

Well at least it looks like the end is near since “In a recent inteview for Voice Newtype, Hirano Aya mentioned that she just finished recording the Endless Eight arc. Considering that it can take about a month for a recorded anime to finally air, does that mean we are stuck in that loop for another 4 weeks?” …hopefully not another 4weeks though

As a longtime fan of Haruhi it is kinda disappointing that its come to this. My take on it is that the production company probably saw the outcry of people (or got loaded up with fan/hate mail) wanting a second second and wondering why it took 2+ years or so and said “You know what, you want a second second? Here you go, enjoy.”
As a person who downloads fan subs i suppose i dont have a legit say in how they run the company but like many people have mentioned, what about those people who dont DL the series and then go out and buy a $20 dvd which is just the same basic episode 5 (maybe 6) times over? I think reasons like this are why fan subs are needed, so when an anime runs itself into the ground, we dont have to blindly buy it hoping its good. Its not as if you could buy the DvD find out they did this and then return it on the grounds of…well whatever you want to call this.
Anyway thats my 2 cents, i’d like to thank Chihiro for all the great work, i’ve been DLing from you guys for years now, i just dont usually do comments

It can only be that this is the best background ever. Quite the marvelous spectacular color ever to be chosen as a background. Can you tell me how you came to make the background such a fantastic color?
How did you guys miss the Evangelion reference?? You should have had it as “Unit-00″. Also a translator’s note might have been nice for the “uneducated” bunch.
If the loop won’t end next episode im gonna spend all of august watching every single gundam, dragon ball, that frog series and astro boy epidsode till it ends.
And Kyon needs to do his dam homework already instead of thinking of letting himself do it at the next loop.
I think at this point the animators are doing their work at gunpoint because anyone can agree it is dishonorable and unethical to release this gargae (we still <3 chihiro) and expect fans to not notice.
The only thing I liked in these episodes after watching the first one (and thus all 6) was when Kyon looks at Nagato by the pool and has his “deja vu attack”. The sudden paranoia looked like it came right out of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
What should I say? There should be hints in Haruhi’s episodes! But what are they? I don’t know. I can’t remember… It’s useless. I don’t care anymore. Whether in 7-th episode everything really repeats again or not, I’ll just leave it to myself to figure it out then.

I feel like the odd man out here… but I’ve actually enjoyed these episodes so far… Besides getting to see Yuki is several different swimsuits… which is awesome. I kinda like the repetitive story with minor changes. It’s obviously (hopefully) building towards something (of course we know it is… I’m just saying…). Even when the story does break, it’s still not anything huge and for those of you that don’t enjoy the story so far, it’ll be a bit of a disappointment.
But, hey… look at it this way… this has only been a few times for us (about 9’sh by my count since I’m adding in the obvious repeats, I think, at the end of this episode)… that’s just the tip of the iceberg for poor Nagato. If ANYTHING knowing that she’s been through this stuff, how many times? Her “quiet cool” points have gone off the charts now!
