About our release: Please note that we use ordered chapters in this release. This means that the OP and the ED are in seperate files, and will be called to play with the episode. For this to work, THE OP AND THE ED HAVE TO BE IN THE SAME FOLDER AS THE EPISODE! The same OP and ED file will work for 02, 03, 04, and so on. So when you play episode 02, make sure it is in the folder with the OP and ED that was released this episode.
Makes our DVD releases ~60 MB smaller per episode.

dvd is better imo, but ordered chapters doesn’t seem to work with mpc… interesting, other releases are working, but it is ok with wmp/zoom player…

also the dvd has much better picture quality because bs-i sux, so it’s worth to download this version

If you can’t tell a difference, you’re blind. There are more details, the lines are less blurry, the colors in detailed areas aren’t washed out (look at the eyes for example), and more grain of course. :p
Though these DVDs weren’t that great by DVD standards, they are better than the BS-i broadcast.

the DVD have colors and shadows more detailed and the resolution of the image is beter
but u need a good lcd for see the diference betwen h.264, DVD, and XVID
any format have the same cuality of a DVD excluding the bluelayer
but the h.264 its a project was to create a standard capable of providing good video quality at substantially lower bit rates than previous standards

Kyo, what setting did you change in MPC to get the ordered chapters to load? The OP doesn’t play when it’s supposed to.

Guess I will be downloading this one for the third time
I find it odd that there is so much color difference between the WS and DVD-version. Is there a technical reason for that (e.g. different color space)? Or did the broadcasting station put a color filter over it? (seem to me there is a yellow taint applied to the image).

I’m not sure. I have MPC as well and it plays fine for me, and I didn’t have to change any settings.

I had to reset all my CCCP settings to default, and that got it working. I’ll have to hunt down what custom setting broke that. blaargh.

The WS is cleaner, but the DVD is less flickered. No matter which you pick, you’re losing quality in some way. But that’s the case for ANYTHING really.

Uh forgot to mention, you also need to replace the OP too. Audio is way overgained compared to the ED and ep1.

The WS version has a yellow/green taint over it. You can see this on the “black” title screen after the into.
Unfortunately, the DVD version has much more noise, grain and artifacts. It also misses several lines on the top and bottom of the picture.

I’m quite glad that Chihiro is running with the DVD series. I can drop the original subs with fresher material. Plus, I can make more room on my other HD for more subs. Thanks Chihiro once again. Great to know you people are committed. (minus straight jackets)

Just curios, if the OP/ED are separate files, do they get skipped if missing from the folder, or will it make the player crash or something? I (personally) only watch the the OP/ED during the first episode and skip forward after that. (Except Lucky Star which had the kareoke which was pretty funny.)
As for cg, well, I never really considered who subbed a show when deciding to download it, but that’s pretty immature. I haven’t seen anything of theirs yet, I see no reason to start now. ;P
