Parted to the other side! Did anyone notice? Now that it’s in Blu-Ray, you can notice. Never again will you miss small details, like which side Yui’s hair is parted to or the fingerprints on the brass rabbit… or wood rabbit… small details like… what the rabbit is made out of…

720p: The link above this is better
Edit:
For the final time, you can download K-Lite Codec which is now at version 6.3.0 or you can download the latest CCCP beta version 2010.08.07. Please update your codecs and stop whining. Let’s stop this never ending cycle.

August 14th, 2010 at 4:12 am
564.53MB for a 1080 WITH flac….
must be a bad encode.
Or it could be K-On!! is one of the most compressible shows
August 14th, 2010 at 4:12 am
Thanks
August 14th, 2010 at 4:47 am
Just because THORA uses 1 GB per episode on Clannad NOT EVEN including the ordered chapters, doesn’t mean that’s the right way to encode shows.
Just sayin’, bro.
August 14th, 2010 at 5:17 am
Why do you do this to me? Now I can’t decide which one to get!
Thanks for doing though. I just wish you would release —– *transmission lost*
August 14th, 2010 at 7:05 am
Thanks for the release ^_^
August 14th, 2010 at 7:22 am
I tried playing the OP file seperately and it’s pretty glitchy and delayed..
August 14th, 2010 at 7:31 am
get codecs
August 14th, 2010 at 7:39 am
That’s a… small size for a 1080p file.
August 14th, 2010 at 9:09 am
So should i get 1080 instead of 720 ?
August 14th, 2010 at 9:09 am
my pc can only display 1680×1050 max
Since your monitor is above 720p, the 1080p will still look better than 720p for you.
August 14th, 2010 at 9:13 am
Hmm I can’t even play the file in mpc with cccp. Had no problems with the blu-rays for the first season though. :/
August 14th, 2010 at 9:21 am
Use CoreAVC. It works for me.
I would like to know what rules chihiro has for encoding anime.
I like THORA releases for its high bitrate.
x264 crf 16 on really slow settings. In other words, it’s going to look basically visually lossless without wasting a lot of bitrate. Whatever THORA does wastes a lot of bitrate. Like I said, making your releases 1 GB doesn’t automatically make them better. In fact, I’d say THORA probably makes their releases 1 GB to compensate for not knowing how to encode properly.
I mean, you COULD download THORA’s, or you could download ours and get pretty much the same quality at half the filesize. Above a certain bitrate, the human eye can’t even notice a difference, and THORA’s encodes are WAY above that bitrate.
August 14th, 2010 at 10:02 am
Hmm… the OP alone works pretty well. The main film (with the OP moved out of the directory) works like a charm, as well. However, the moment when the player jumps from the pre-OP to the OP, audio and video get de-synched, the audio lagging about a second past the video stream.
(MPC + FFDShow, as well as MPC + CoreAVC. 3.33GHz Core2 w/ AMD 5770)
August 14th, 2010 at 10:17 am
How do i turn off this piece of crap called ffdshow DXVA video decoder ?? on last OS i turned off all was ok , now i am getting irritated again , cause i cannot watch few files , including this.
August 14th, 2010 at 10:59 am
Go to ffdshow video configuration and in “codec” uncheck H264/AVC. U mnie działa/works for me.
August 14th, 2010 at 11:02 am
doesn’t do anything , unchecked or checked
August 14th, 2010 at 11:14 am
Uninstal it and get the latest version. It’s updated frequently but pay attention during the instalation process what type of codecs you chcek/uncheck
August 14th, 2010 at 11:15 am
I use ffdshow only for playing avi files (xvid, divix, wmv) for H264 I use CoreAVC.
August 14th, 2010 at 11:16 am
630 is latest , have it , i am not in the mood to bother myself with it at this moment . i go play emo game called D2
August 14th, 2010 at 12:40 pm
Ive got the latest MPC and codecs, the OP and ED open and play but the actual episode doesnt open in MPC, just stuck on “Opening…”. Anyone else have this?
Your MPC hasn’t enabled FLAC audio. Go to configuration and change your fddshow audio settings. FLAC is default as disabled, just enable it and you should be fine.
August 14th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
yea that is what i have , need to turn off somehow that crap i was talking about , but no idea , will reinstall in few hours , now busy in SU ,KT
August 14th, 2010 at 2:07 pm
FFDshow has a problem with how Chihiro do there FLAC cutting (or something similar according to the makers of CCCP). MPC’s internal filter does not. The problem is MPC’s internal filter doesn’t like to be used externally (I’ve spent about a week trying).
Does anyone know any other FLAC decoders that work with Chihiros videos?
The reason I need this is I use PS3 Media Server to watch videos on my TV elsewhere. It uses Mencoder without ordered chapter support, so I use Avisynth to feed it video using the same filter chain that MPC should use (Haali, FFDshow for video) but I cant get MPA Decoder (the internal audio filter for MPC) to work properly outside of MPC.
August 14th, 2010 at 2:15 pm
Why do you keep hardsubbing your OPs and EDs?
Why do I have to download the whole raw episode and cut the clean ED just because you’re either incapable or obnoxious idiots?
I regret ever donating to you.
Most people use VSFilter to render subtitles, it is a slow piece of shit when doing even \k only so we have to hardsub it.
August 14th, 2010 at 2:24 pm
Quick question: Season 1 or Season 2?
August 14th, 2010 at 2:43 pm
Thx anyway Season 2
August 14th, 2010 at 3:12 pm
ty for the release =)
August 14th, 2010 at 4:00 pm
wahhh paradox! Brain overload ><!! Which link is the better one?!
August 14th, 2010 at 4:21 pm
Why can’t I hear any sound with WMP 12?
August 14th, 2010 at 4:53 pm
@ Tow3r Instead of ffdshow dvxa, I’ve heard that media player classic 64 bit HH dvxa mode is better then ffdshows. Works great for nvidia. If you have 5xxx with the latest drivers, even an ati card works well with coreavc.
August 14th, 2010 at 4:55 pm
sry, I mean’t to say mpc HH 64 bit dvxa mode is better then 64 bit ffdshow. I suggest just using mpcs internal flac.
August 14th, 2010 at 5:31 pm
I fixed it , changed few things , but mainly i just had to enable FLAC in FFDshow audio
Changed and other things in filters [options] of MPC HC , but mainly it was just FLAC error .
I have same system from like 3 years q6600 ,8800Gts 640 . see link for more info , but you have to be a member of OCN to see it .

August 14th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
How come coreavc is acting stupid with some of your video’s? Is coreavc in need of an update? I normally use internal filters when it happens but I don’t like not using coreavc. After all, I did pay money for it.
August 14th, 2010 at 7:35 pm
Not trying to bring any problems, but personally, I hate FLAC audio. I don’t think there is even a stable decoder for it that runs smoothly. And to be honest, can you really hear the difference between FLAC and lowest compression MP3?
August 14th, 2010 at 10:03 pm
@Kanade I certainly can. Anyone with ears can. Are you a moron?
Do you have proof that you can tell the difference? Don’t tell it’s clearer because we all know that. In WHAT WAY? I think many people can’t tell the real differenceand you just called half the world a moron.
August 14th, 2010 at 10:05 pm
Thanks Chihiro! I will be downloading your K-On!! BD releases and patiently waiting for the rest of Railgun to finish!
Thank you!~~~~~
August 14th, 2010 at 10:35 pm
Mmmmm…. Season 2…. with no watermarks.
*Drools*
Anyway, question, are there any Specials tacked onto the BD release like they did for S1?
Yes, although we still haven’t decided whether or not we’ll be doing these. Of course, if there is a full BD-only episode, we will do it, but as for the short omake specials, we are as of yet undecided.
August 15th, 2010 at 12:47 am
@nomae
K-Lite is halting by the way (last one) so you stop whining, not all of us are stupid, you just use normal encoders, and everything will be fine…
Or you could just use good decoders
nomae: I didn’t add that edit to the post, nor the comment about “good decoders”. I actually agree with all of you that our encodes are overly restrictive and only run under the best of circumstances, but this is how our encoders insist on working, and there’s nothing I can do about it.

August 15th, 2010 at 5:19 am
Thanks for the release! Yummy!
Anyway, the fix for the problem is pretty easy, for those who still cant play the movie (with MPC, KCP 6.30)
Go to ffdshow audio decoder (start menu => k-lite codec pack => configuration). On the right column, find FLAC under the format, change the setting from “disabled” to “libavcodec”. Press ok and done.
Works for me ^_^
August 15th, 2010 at 6:27 am
@wahlaueh sounds about right. I don’t use k-lite or cccp but I can agree with what he said. Its not just video codacs that causes video issues, the audio plays a major roll as well. Recently I found out that on of my videos didn’t play at all on my kmplayer. I was like WTF is wrong?? turns out that my external coreaac was the issue. I disabled that and enabled back the internal one and it worked fine. I doubt it was an issue with kmplayer though but something else, I just didn’t bother to look deep into it.
August 15th, 2010 at 6:28 am
@ DXVA nice link, I recommend that for 64 bit users….. u should use tinyurl next time xD
August 15th, 2010 at 3:15 pm
No 480p?
(
August 15th, 2010 at 5:20 pm
anyone else have it happen where if you let the episode play through linked with ordered chapters, it becomes out of sync starting at the OP and gets worse every time a new chapter starts, but if you skip to different chapters there is no issue. all of the files individually have no sync issues, and i know its not codecs/players, as everything ive ever downloaded from chihiro plays without issue.
August 15th, 2010 at 5:31 pm
^^^^^
disregard. apparently the version of ffdshow i have doesnt play this correctly but the internal filter in mpc-hc does? /facepalm
guess ill see if i cant figure this one out…
August 15th, 2010 at 5:41 pm
killzone71
- there is no 480 in Magenta rays .
August 15th, 2010 at 11:30 pm
@magnum
We’ve mentioned this before. But here it is again. In the fddshow video config, you have H.264/AVC defaulted as disabled. Set that to ffmpeg-mt and see if that fixes it.
August 16th, 2010 at 2:07 am
Thanks for the release. You are full of WIN, no doubt at all.
August 16th, 2010 at 2:43 am
I seem to be lagging while playing the videos, and I have downloaded all of the codec packs and the newest version of mpc. Idk why, the episode’s video is lagging behind the audio, nothing is playing smoothly.
August 16th, 2010 at 2:49 am
go right click render settings > vsync > click alternative sync. bye
August 16th, 2010 at 8:35 am
Well…I’ll probably be downloading this soon =D
I’d like K-ON!! in Blue Ray quality…just unsure how to burn in in a DVD somehow =S
August 16th, 2010 at 9:34 am
@ronelm2000
you can only burn it as data dvd otherwise you would destroy the release by shrinking it to dvd resolution.
Thanks for the release Chihiro

Wait, what’s happening with k-lite? They’re not gonna update anymore or something?
August 17th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
I get the lag with cccp beta and the latest k-lite.
I found if I skip the video forward, or back a second it syncs back up.
The lag appears when the video switches from opening scene to op, if you skip it and re-sync it’ll reappear op -> show etc.
It’s relatively easy to remedy, for me, but is a little bit strange.
Thanks for the release, I really appreciate your hard work Chihiro.
August 17th, 2010 at 1:39 pm
i really try to make sense of it and i still cant stop thinking What the fucking sense in makeing Karaoke when you all the time CUT THE ED AND OP!?
August 17th, 2010 at 2:02 pm
Plz do the specials to, it’s just 5 min + you’re good subbers + i want the complete K-On!! from you. So please do it in 1080p! … Let me know when you have decided.
August 17th, 2010 at 3:01 pm
Just so everyone knows about the lag issue. It’s not Chihiro’s fault. The FLAC decoder in FFDShow screws up when ordered chapters are used. I have the same issues with Hayate Blu-rays and some other shows. You can either do what Minus is doing and just seek to re-sync it. Or play the files in Media Player Classic and enable it’s own FLAC decoding.
I use Minus’ method, since when I use MPC’s decoder, it seems to remove the multichannel output for my S/PDIF connection.
August 17th, 2010 at 3:51 pm
Thank you, de.monkeyz. You identified and solved the issue. Thumbs up!
@Kanade: Won’t work, at least not for me. Like de.monkeyz stated, I have to disable FLAC processing by FFDShow, and let MPC handle it. Poof, lag is gone.

August 19th, 2010 at 1:37 am
Maybe someone can help me on this… I just installed the new cccp codecs and now i have no subtitles… They are marked as on, but nothing shows up… Any ideas? Other than learning Japanese?
August 19th, 2010 at 1:38 am
Sorry.. Im using WM 11…
August 19th, 2010 at 8:13 am
@Juno
lol, that is one piece of trash.
at any rate, thank you chihiro for your hard work, i’d hug you if I could, but you would probably just kill me then so i’ll refrain from doing so :]
August 19th, 2010 at 9:22 am
just a note for k-lite, using 6.3 mega pack. doesnt play initially, but after setting FLAC to “libavcodec” (disabled on default) in ffdshow audio decoder config, then it works. Cheers.
btw Yui ftwwwww <3
August 19th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
Your a great help Havoc…
August 19th, 2010 at 5:22 pm
I’ve always used WMP with all my Anime. Never had an issue with it.
If you look in the settings for FFDShow Video Decoder, subtitles could be set to off. If you can’t figure it out, I suggest you just re-install CCCP. And I tend to install K-Lite over that as well so I get everything working. (Since CCCP has issues with a few files, and K-Lite HATES Chihiro’s Hayate blu-rays on ANY player)
August 20th, 2010 at 4:58 pm
Thanks de.monkeyz… fix worked and its all good…
August 20th, 2010 at 5:21 pm
