The free version has a 30 day limit, although it allows me to play DVDs, through it's player or MPC. I don't know if the 30 days is for just it's player, or the codec it installed, as I've only had it a week. For pretty much all anime I summon mkv @720 (if available, 480 if not) and use mkv from
cccp – work perfectly. BUT WHY…

When I try to use the same for dvd’s in EITHER of my dvd slots – won’t work.

It actually does this bizarre thing where the drive disappears – and I have to reboot to make the dvd drive come back. I know, strange, huh? Btw, os is…wait for it, trying to remember…

The reason I have DivX vs Xvid is I had one movie that refused to play on anything but the DivX player. I haven't noticed much of a difference between the two.
