(TV on top, BD on bottom)
Yay Hinagiku in Blu-Ray! Along with Miki, the only girl I’ve ever seen in the anime that has her hair pulled back instead of bangs.
Yay for NCOP and NCED! No more credits that look like the original style I made for ZKC!
Yay for FLAC audio!
BOO for JC Staff deciding to change a couple of signs!
1080p: ^_^ ^_^
720p: ^_^

Big difference between the blueray 720 p and other 720 p release ? (1 to 19) ?
September 15th, 2009 at 12:37 am
Yes please, comparison pictures please :3
Thanks Chihiro! Suki desu!
September 15th, 2009 at 12:57 am
but ritsu also has bangs… hold on so does miki… they are trying to confuse us!!!
September 15th, 2009 at 2:57 am
I don’t have any of the files on my computer to actually make comparison pics, but I know that the ED looks a lot clearer than the average TV versions, and the OP with the clock tower here doesn’t have the banding I remember with the TV version. I’ll try to get samples when I have actual DL speed.

JC Staff actually redid several scenes in episode 1. I don’t know exactly how much was redone as I haven’t watched the bluray version yet, but I know that several signs had to be redone when we encoded it. Aside from that, I don’t think the difference is big enough to rewatch just for the sake of it, but if you’re archiving, you’ll want the blurays.

Awesome work as usual, guys! That reminds me, are you guys ever going to finish releasing those batches of ZKC?
September 15th, 2009 at 11:08 am
@anarchangel66
yep when will the other batches of ZKC will be released @_@
September 15th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Thanks for the work.
For the differences between TV and BD 720p versions, the backsrounds are sharper but the characters only a little bit. The BD picture got less artifacts though, but this could be because of different compressions.
Btw, is the 1080p version just an upscale or native resolution?
September 15th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
anarchangel66, I thought we agreed not to derail threads by asking about other pending releases. Believe me, if we WERE doing that you’d hear me complaining about R+V2 in every thread.
<3 Keep up the fantastic work Chihiro.

Terracresta, no matter how cleanly a TV signal is sent, it’ll be messier than the DVD simply because TV has much more cable, switchers, and amplifiers to travel through which cause bit errors and small loses in quality. Not to mention that on the DVD version, the artists may have cleaned things up a bit, as well as changing character positions slightly.

Where’d you guys find blu-ray releases for HnG2? Haven’t seen any floating around on tokyotosho or from the usual BD rippers

>Where’d you guys find blu-ray releases for HnG2? Haven’t seen any floating around on tokyotosho or from the usual BD rippers
We bought it. *gasp*

>Btw, is the 1080p version just an upscale or native resolution?
The bluray comes in 1080p.
September 15th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
Honestly, besides the removal of the credits, it’s really difficult to see a difference between this and the TV version. The Blu-ray is somewhat sharper, but it’s really not very noticeable.
September 15th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
Can you make some scans of BD?
September 15th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Is HnG2 real resolution 1080p or 720p? Most of the BD anime I saw is really 720p.. 1080p is just studio upscale. It would be better if you provide the 1080p screenshot.
September 16th, 2009 at 1:49 am
and bam 1080p
September 16th, 2009 at 4:03 am
>Can you make some scans of BD?
Do you mean like pictures of the case and bluray disc? Maybe. I’d have to find someone on my campus who has a scanner, or see if they’re available in the library.
And yeah, I’m pretty sure the 1080p is a studio upscale. I know some people like to have the original resolution though, so I included it anyway. People complained last time that ef wasn’t in 1080p.

Uuuup scale. Ah well.

- but if you’re archiving, you’ll want the blurays.
