Lolis are fun, but this arc is… Hm. It’s like, it built up all the tension, but then it didn’t set the mood right and played all the wrong music at the climatic scene. >.<
Included is a v2 of the OP and ED. Please, please, PLEASE remove the old OP+ED from your old folder. If these are in the same folder and you try playing and episode, it will explode. The lyrics were updated to the official ones, basically. They will work with EVERY EPISODE.
Also released a v2 of episode 5 with some script corrections.
Lastly, DmonHiroX, please log onto IRC. Kristen REALLY needs to talk to you. Badly.
5v2: Patch
h.264: Lolis are cute.
XviD: Bwahahaha!

August 29th, 2009 at 2:07 am
Hawt! I mean thanks for the release.
August 29th, 2009 at 2:24 am
Chihiro is one of the best fansub groups. That is all.
By the way, thanks for release XD

About patches…
When you release patches like these, most people would patch their files, right?
When they do that, they can no longer seed so :/
Kinda lose seeders when you make a patch.
Unless they copy the file before patching… etc.
Anyway, thanks for this lol.
August 29th, 2009 at 2:51 am
I like how you use ordered chapters and replace them to correct them when needed be. Instead of leaving a bunch of errors in the first few episodes. Good stuff.
August 29th, 2009 at 6:36 am
“it will explode”
i’ll try it
August 29th, 2009 at 6:56 am
Instructions for those people who want to apply the patch: move downloaded patch to directory you’re keeping the chapter 5 of Yoku Wakaru. Extract the files from the patch using winrar or 7zip. Double click on the batch file. When processing is done, just delete old version or keep it for seeding purposes, and delete the patch files.

August 29th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
for me the OP and ED don’t work at all
August 29th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
OP and ED are working for me. Did you delete the old ones first and then move the new ones in?
August 29th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
yes i delete the old ed and op et move the new in the folder but they don’t work with media classe the release is 21 minute
August 29th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
*watches the new ED* ‘Didn’t I say I was going to reborn?’? O.O (01:03/01:30)
*ponders certain other things, such as the 01:22 difference between the top ‘yoka’ and the bottom (in hiragana, grammatically presumably correct) ‘you ka’*
–
Using VLC Media Player (version 1.0.1) for the sixth episode, at roughly 02:04/23:59 the episode begins repeating from the beginning. Comparing the timing to that of a different source, that appears to be the point at which the OP should cut in. Is a reason for this known? Is a renaming necessary, or a setting change, or a different media player?
The prior versions have been moved to the Recycle Bin.
*bows*
It’s called “DON’T USE VLC FOR GOD’S SAKE”
August 29th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
The ‘Don’t use VLC’: what media player (ideally all-purpose and skipping frames instead of desyncing video and audio) is recommende for Chihiro releases (specifically, to play the OP and ED normally as part of Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou episodes)?
CCCP+MPC
August 29th, 2009 at 7:00 pm
I love your group’s work, but I think noticed an error in the subbing for the new OP. This is really minor, but I thought you like to know that near the end of the OP it says “puroguramu”, and the subs says “And problem in my own style”. So shouldn’t it say something like “And program in my own style”, since I am pretty sure puroguramu is japanese for program.
August 29th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
‘CCCP+MPC’: Combined Community Codec Pack and Media Player Classic previously obtained; no restarting, but no opening. The length appears as 21:00 instead of 23:59. Also, no subtitles display, and the Alt-Play-Subtitles menu option is greyed out.
Version: 6.4.9.1, revision 55. *goes to check for if a more recent version exists*
New one: same version number, revision 104. Same state.
Searching. Switching to VMR9 (renderless) changes nothing apparent.
In any case, the ordered chapters matter is of greater importance curiosity-wise than the subtitles matter. How must MPC be set for the opening and ending to play as they should (as part of the episode)?
August 29th, 2009 at 7:47 pm
Tch. Though CCCP was previously installed, it seems it may have been removed by something else at some point; trying to reinstall it, ‘[...] is present in the system and is known to cause problems. Can we disable it?’… irritating that these things tend to conflict with each other.
I will proceed with caution; in any case, knowing what is necessary is a great help. Thank you very much!
August 29th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
Hm. The suggested things have been disabled (which may or may not cause problems with something else later) and CCCP’s reinstallation has been completed: in the episode, subtitles now work ideally, but neither the opening nor the ending play and the total length is still shown as 21:00. How can the ordered chapters system be made to function?
August 29th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
(Windows Media Player now willingly plays the file and shows the length as 23:59, as well as playing the opening (and presumably the ending) without problems; however, MPC still will not. Interesting. In any case, WMP is a backup method for now. *wonders if any program can be used to view the ‘linkedness’ of the files*)
August 29th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
Have you made sure that Matsroka is unchecked under internal filters in MPCs options?
August 29th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
Now unchecked; MPC now plays the file (including opening, ending and length display) correctly! *great happiness*
August 29th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
half on topic, half off topic… why is everyone so in love with CCCP and i never see anyone give satsuki any loving? i tried CCCP and was not happy with the result, video looked awful with it.
August 29th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
Probably because most people have never heard of it.
August 30th, 2009 at 12:07 am
Okay, so I deleted the old OP and ED and put in the new ones. My video still exploded, and I didn’t open the episode until I put in the v2 OP and ED. Did I screw something up and have to redownload something? (I redownloaded the v2 OP and ED, which didn’t change anything.) I am using the CCCP+MPC, and this issue didn’t occur until this episode.
It’s probably obvious, but all the other episodes explode on me now too.
August 30th, 2009 at 8:13 am
what are you talking about, sacchin is love
August 30th, 2009 at 8:17 am
and here’s the satsuki decoder pack. pretty much the same as cccp if you look at the components.

August 30th, 2009 at 9:10 am
(I tried leaving a comment earlier, but I guess it didn’t go through? Anyway, if this is a duplicate comment, ignore this.)
I did as instructed and annihilated the old OP and ED, placing the v2′s in the folder. When I opened episode 6, it exploded when the OP hit. When I opened the other episodes, they exploded too. I’m absolutely sure that I deleted the old OP and ED, so why isn’t it working? (They work fine by themselves, by the way, and I redownloaded them just to check.) Did I screw something up?
August 30th, 2009 at 10:34 am
By exploded, what exactly do you mean?
August 30th, 2009 at 10:42 am
Sorry lol Should’ve mentioned that I was talking about what Kristen mentioned. Basically, the frame freezes the moment the OP is supposed to load, then it… well, it’s hard to describe. The audio goes just fine, but it looks like the video starts to melt or something. The video part just won’t load properly. This wasn’t an issue for me until I replaced the OP and ED files (and eradicated the older ones).
August 30th, 2009 at 11:47 am
You know, actually, I tried it on my WinXP side about half an hour ago (when I posted that comment, I was on my Win7 (RC build 7100) side), and it worked just fine (I couldn’t post a sooner reply initially because the site wouldn’t work after I tried it). I’m not sure if it was just a fluke or if it’s Win7′s fault. I’ll have to look into that later.
Anyway, what I meant is that when I replaced the old OP and ED files with the new ones, when the episodes tried to go to it, the frame would freeze, and as you sat there and watched, the frame would look like it was melting lol which was kinda bizarre to watch. The audio worked just fine, though, but I can’t imagine why.
August 30th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Yeah, I get the same as you, Nohta. But I’m running on Vista SP2. I’m using MPC Home Cinema with the built-in H.264 decoder and letting the latest Haali Media Splitter handle the split-up files. (Yes, Matroska is unchecked in my MPC settings.) I tried it with DXVA enabled and disabled, so that’s not the problem there.
September 1st, 2009 at 2:29 pm
I once get the same problems, video melting and all macroblocks baring themselves when using coreavc. All I did was to reregister the coreavc and it works fine again. Don’t know what was wrong with my case, but usually when it comes to codecs the reset button works wonders

Do you guys think it’s possible that Koyomi and Yumiko are related somehow?
July 27th, 2010 at 1:53 pm
