So, this season is a complete failure. They show Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, setting up the disappearance arc. Then they make an arc that should’ve been 2 episodes at most be 8 episodes. And now they do a full adaptation of book 2, which to me was the least interesting of any of the books/short stories. We’re left with the worst arcs of the story for season 2, and all the good arcs are left out.
I hope you have a bombshell announcement at the end of S2 of a S3 WITH A SEASON, or we will be coming for you, Kyoani.
The next new letter is “k” (For Kyonko!)

Hell yeah! First comment!

Thank god I didn’t watch season 2. Then again, I haven’t finish watching season 1 yet. >_>
And since my guess of Sora no Otoshimono isn’t it, then it has to be Sasameki Koto.
August 28th, 2009 at 1:03 am
Seikan no Blacksmith or Sasameki Koto are my guesses for the new project.
August 28th, 2009 at 1:06 am
Kit-Tsukasa, Seikan no Blacksmith only has 1 o.
August 28th, 2009 at 1:13 am
Thanks for the release. Anyways, you changed the pic. did you not? And also, I’ve been wondering, are these fan arts? Where do you get these? The panty part is always echi xD
August 28th, 2009 at 1:56 am
Hmm..I was trying to figure out what the next show would be and with the newest letters I think it’s
Sasameki Koto~
But, yay. Thanks for the next episode, even though this season is sucking because of that stupid endless eight

Sasameki Koto “Whispered Words” is a yuri (Girls Love) manga series! Why would Kristen want to do that one?
Interesting, very interesting
August 28th, 2009 at 3:18 am
watch them announce the Haruhiko anime that would make ya happy Kristen :p
August 28th, 2009 at 3:34 am

August 28th, 2009 at 4:08 am
Hmm…
Has it actually been completely confirmed by KyoAni that 2009 will only have 14 new episodes?
Also: Sasameki Koto? Pssshh…

Reading comprehension people….
“Release posts will contain a letter from the new show that’s scrambled until the puzzle is solved.”
In other words… stop guessing the title name lol. Use the clues…
*cough* Sasameki Koto/Sora no Otoshimono*cough*
To figure out what those have to do with 9M4<4 1

Hey,
I don’t see this season as a failure at all.
To me it was to the utmost satisfaction that they have drawn through the endless summer episodes instead of slacking off after the second or third, absolutely refreshing – unlike other series that just give a vague idea of the problem.

August 28th, 2009 at 4:51 am

@Jajajjajajaj
Sora no Otoshimono isn’t one of the “clue” either if you pay attention to the real clues. >_>

My stickies are hard to read ヽ(´ー`)ノ
and that just narrowed the list down to exactly 3 <_<

I have a stupid question, and I apologize in advance for posting in the wrong episode post for it, but I didn’t think anyone would be scrolling down to the correct one soon…
How do I get blue-ray versions of these to play? I have the Combined Community Codec Pack, and installed Media Player Classic, but I only get the sound and a blank screen for the video. Is there a special codec on BD versions?
Again, sorry to bring this up in the ‘wrong’ place, but figured it’d be noticed here more than below.
August 28th, 2009 at 5:55 am
… Cancel that… I just tried opening the Blu-ray file and it played just fine.
I think my computer is just being odd then. >.<

Aww, Haruhi is over ;_;
Hopefully, there is a S3.

Just to play devil’s advocate, Kadokawa officially announced, before this current run started, that there wasn’t a second season. Officially speaking, this is a renewal of the first season. It’s placed the chronology in a straight line, and filled in every missing story from the original run. Like it or loathe it, it really does seem like they’ve tied up all the loose ends. A true second series can now start from “Disappearance” and probably tidy up most of the other short stories. In hindsight, this run will probably make a lot more sense.

I’ll be interested to see what Bandai does about releasing it here (since presumably they’ll license it eventually) if they’re really treating this as the first season with stuff filled in rather than a second season – particularly when you take the endless eight into account. Imagine buying that on singles. Ouch. Bandai has had enough trouble recently without trying to sell _that_. Even in a full-on boxed set, it’s likely to tick people off. In fact, if it wasn’t something as popular as Haruhi, I’d expect that having done something like the endless eight would have killed the show (in Japan).
August 28th, 2009 at 10:56 am
Thanks for the release!
August 28th, 2009 at 11:16 am
Btw, guys, dont you think they’re just making their own show, so that you cannot guess? ^_^
TY for episode ) There is point to wait again for new episodes, since endless eight is already over… )
August 28th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
i guess it does make sense that its not second season and just fillers that explain things from first season… at least they didnt stop production completely keeps me entertained so its not a complete bust
August 28th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
@Kalessin
I’ve wondered that myself. In Japan, the first series was released in eight volumes. As you probably know, the new DVD releases are numbered to fit into the original collection. “Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody” is Vol. 4 (because it goes between “Boredom” and “Mysterique Sign” from the original Vol. 4), while “Endless Eight” and “Sigh” are decimals of Vol. 5. For an international release, the smartest thing to do would be to market them as “missing episodes”, not as a second series. I can imagine a 14-episode boxset with that moniker.
August 29th, 2009 at 5:53 am
@Manwards
A “missing episodes” set might work fairly well, though it would be nice to have them all together in order for playback purposes. They’d almost have to release it as a set too, because otherwise the Endless Eight discs would likely sell poorly. There’s going to be enough complaining about that as it is without having to basically buy them separately. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Endless Eight discs sell poorly in Japan even if the rest sells well – especially because they typically have so few episodes per disc and charge so much.

i believe a kyonko oav would set things all right…
August 29th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
yes i must say that Kyonko looks Very sexy =)
August 29th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
>> Technically speaking, shouldn’t you be glad KyoAni isn’t looking for subbers like you, to stop the distribution of their original work worldwide?
… Rather, shouldn’t we all be glad; screw the fact that it kinda sucks! Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, no?
August 30th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
LoL @ Lifi… Life gives u lemons, you throw them back in its face ;D
May I suggest Chihiro doing some side works, translating and releasing those damn funny Kyonko stuff? I could find some neat ajax translations but I don’t have em saved in my pc. My skills with pic editing are somewhere below bad so I’d end up screwing the results =((
