It’s funny because Chihiro is trolling us just like Kadokawa is trolling anime lovers everywhere, on the same show.

I read that the first Endless 8 DVD is being sold in Japan with a 4-disc box (3 slots empty of course). Each DVD will be the normal outrageous Japanese price.

The transport stream ISN’T ENCODED and that is why it has that resolution. It’s not a fail encoding, it’s just not encoded.
I downloaded the ts, and now I intended to keep it. Screw the actual encoding!

But perhaps it’s an antidote for hikakimori syndrome. Though I expect the real otaku will just note the make and colour of the yukata and swimsuits used in each version. Then go and buy versions for their model kits.

I think the fact that they’re doing EIGHT episodes of this confirms that they’re quite consciously screwing with us. Well, this has been either ‘interesting’ or ‘terrible’… I can’t decide. I think Endless Eight is a really cool idea but actually making it eight episodes is a bit much. Even four I could’ve handled.
I’m glad the next one is the last.
I’m really hoping that the episodes beyond this are amazing… I’m worried for the series.
Oh and also, I know some people are saying this is ‘cheap’ and in terms of writing it DEFINITELY is… However they are redoing the animation every time. It’s not as if they aren’t putting effort in at all.
It’s just a bit of a letdown for a series as amazing as TMOHS… O_o

OMG this is a joke. Think of all the money and time wasted on this ARC. I am not backing this up. It’ll be deleted immediately. I would really be interested to know a) who thought this was a good idea b) who went along with and put it into production. We’ve waited what? five years for this? They did that whole weird fake website thing and pumped up the fans for this? Is this to make fun of the people who watched the 1st season over and over? If you watch the 2nd season once you’ve actually watched it 8 times. Anyone here could write a better episode. Now I just want Kyon to take Haruhi in the pool bathroom, slap the shit out of her and have his way. Then will see if she’ll want to repeat the summer over 5000 times.

So after I getting pissed at downloading yet ANOTHER endless eight remake (I’m blaming Kyoani not Chihiro). I checked out how many episodes are truly second season, and here are my results:
Supposed total episodes for second season: 26 (source Anidb)
First season episodes: 14
26 – 14= 12
endless eight episodes so far (taking into account next weeks episode since it’s not over yet. and hoping it doesn’t stretch any longer): 8
12 – 8 = 4
so basically season 2 is in fact only 5 REAL new episodes.
and to top it off that means that we only have 2 new episodes left after this STOOPID endless 8 arc is over.
Am I the only one p*ssed off about this? I mean C’mon we had been waiting for these for 3 years.
Once Again thnx for putting up with this Chihiro, although now that i’ve reread my post for the 100th time I think we would have been better off subbing another show. (endless post re reading!!! he he he)

Obviously not, so calling the resolution a “fail encode/broscast” is proof of utter stupidity.
You are familiar with screen resolutions and thus base your comment with such knowledge. 1920×1080 pixels is considered FullHD. Stations are only given a limited bandwidth per multiplex to air. The transfer rate for FullHD in 30i exceeds this limitation. Stations therefore use the HDV resolution of 1440×1080 to make terrestrial transmission viable in 30i. All televisions will stretch the frame to fill the 1920 pixel width.
If you are a satellite or cable customer who sees “Full 1080p Resolution” on your provider’s advertisements and then attempt to retort with “I always get 1920×1080 on my TV”, I will call you a liar. Cable and satellite use different systems that have a much larger “pipe” than standard over-the-air television. The 1080p streams on their service is only for On-Demand service. Even television episodes available on On-Demand will still be 1440×1080 because they are just archive copies from each station. Only the distributor can provide FullHD transfers of a shows’ episode, and these are usually done after Blu-ray’s are out for sale.
