These are the translation’s from the novel, right?
Meaning that if I download the manga from somewhere an dread both at the same time, I’ll get the full experience?
Or do I need to do something else?
I think the only way you can get the FULL Asura experience is if you become a mildly incompetent but otherwise average Japanese high school boy with some issues and somewhat awkward around girls and who is trusted into a world of violent battles and ends up saving his friend, the town, the city, or the world…
but then again, that’s like the plot of almost every shonen anime… well, except ZKC – but that’s for creepy lolicons to ogle at lolis.
Asura Cryin’ originates with the novels. Anything else is an adaptation of the novels. So, the novels are the authoritative source and all you need to get the full story – well as much of it has yet been written anyway.
So, whether you getting the “full experience” depends on what you mean by “full experience.” The novels are the where it comes from and everything is there, so in a way, that’s all you need. But you’re free to enjoy the anime and manga adaptations. It’s certainly great that we have them, but they’re adaptations, so you get the full story – as much as presently exists – with the novels alone.
However, if you’re looking to experience _everything_ related to Asura Cryin’, then you’d need to read the books, watch the anime, read the manga, and buy every single type Asura Cryin’ merchandise ever released – which you’d have to be pretty fanatical to do. Or, you could take foxnewsnetwork’s route. Of course, not actually being Tomo and lacking everything else that only exists in the Asura Cryin’ universe, that isn’t really going to work very well. Otherwise, it’s more like you’re getting the full shounen anime experience rather than Asura Cryin’ in specific.
In any case, whether you’re getting the “full experience” depends entirely on what you mean by “full experience.”
Thanks, foxnewsnetwork and Kallessin for your elaborate answers, as to what I meant with the full experience: Basically the backround story of the anime, so that would mean that I just have to read
the novel, well that settles it I guess.
As for those creepy lolicons, This might just be my personal illusion, but isn’t Chihiro completely
formed out of loli-loving otaku?
Totally unrelated, but Seitokai no Ichizon was moved to air this Fall. Since that (potentially) opens another slot for summer, are you guys going to pick up something else or maybe just finish up what’s on your plate plus the one new show?
Well ignoring the post above >.> How is the 4th chapter coming along? Hopefully you guys will still get this too and its not out of sight out of mind >.> Well anyway just wondering and I didn’t want to post off topic on any of the new posts so I’m just hoping this gets read lol. Thanks.
