good you guys kept it because some people are loyal to groups(i am one of them. though i dont watch Akikan from you guys but thats not really a huge deal..) i personally dont know japanese so i normally look for more Video Quality wich i admit you guys where kinda horrible way in the start with that but what had to be done had to be done(i watched those Koharu Biyori eps first from this group) but you guys have seriously improved since then so i do use you guys more often now then i once did.

This show is so damn bad that’s its actually OK. You definitely know it will be horrible every week so you essentially have no problem watching it. However, just when you think it can’t get any dumber, it completely surprises you. I’m too impressed. Its the Excel Saga of 2009.
BTW, anyone who subs or want the subs of 6.5 really needs some professional help.

I decided to play both the chihiro akikan 7 release and the coalguys akikan 7 release at exactly the same time.
Just to see if there’s any actual difference in their subs…
to be honest…
They both contain the right translations, just a slight difference in wording at times… And sometimes I liked the wording of coalguys better and sometimes I thought the wording of chihiro was better…
to summarize, there really isn’t that much difference at all…
and I really don’t know why coalguys continue to bash chihiro for bad subs, because I quite enjoy them.
Keep up the good work.
In an overall package I liked Chihiro better, because they actually added karaoke to the ending song… and I liked the slightly colored subtitles more too.

well the only reason why I watch coalguys subs is because they have .mkv that is playable on my computer (I have a slow computer and chihiro’s high quality .mkv isn’t able to play on my computer (it is because the resolution of the movie is to big) ofcourse I could download the .avi but that is lower quality then the .mkv But with the subs of both is nothing wrong they are both great
( I download all your series except akikan & ase no yuichi) [If i have a better computer I would look into it which I like better]

@essiw: I don’t know if it will help or not, but try these steps
1.uninstall any codec packs you have and install the latest CCCP
2.Install CoreAVC
3.Go to your fddshow setting and disable the built-in h264 codec, so that CoreAVC will run instead.
4.Go to you MPC playback–>output settings and select VMR7 renderless
It should give you a 15-20% increase playback power. Hope it helps.

In addition, essiw, Asu no Yoichi shouldn’t present any playback problems. The resolution of 640×480 shouldn’t cause issues on any computer.
Akikan, yes, it may not work with older shows, but Asu should play fine.

k-lite codec pack with ffdshow and media player classic works wonders too. I’ve never had an issue with ANY .mkv’s on my old machine.
I could care less about xvid. Chihiro is the cuteness, while a group who shall remain nameless just seems like a bunch of emos. ^^

I really tried everything I could but so far the only 2 things that actual do anything are VLC and MplayerOSX-extented. I happened to get a high quality playing in Mplayer but it was just to much flashing (playing the frames to slow, so the speed of the sound did also go faster then the frames…)

I have a mac so all codecs that are avaible are in updates of apple, CCCP isn’t downloadable for mac, also CoreAVC is for windows and not for mac. so I can;t do that
The only solution is buying a faster computer, but well I don;t have that kind of money right now.

I can play both XVID and MKV, but I prefer XVID. Because you can’t play MKV on your standalone DVD player and XVID can
maybe when i get a fullHD TV, ill start downloading MKV, cuz then i can connect my laptop to my TV with HDMI

Hell yeah, I was so damn worried, when I read the “Akikan dropped” post. I haven’t watched any of the episodes so far, will wait until the last one is on my comp, and watch all in a row. I checked this from animenfo some time ago, read description and found it interesting. So far, all but one series I’ve decided to watch just by reading description have been better or the same level of win, as my idea from the description. I’m pretty good with this stuff.
But yeah, thanks for not dropping Akikan. Will be waiting for more.
