I think Chihiro should do a joint with CoalGuys on K-ON.
CoalGuys already have better quality on both Asu no Yoichi and Akikan, and even AniDB agrees, so maybe they can ride on CoalGuy’s shoulders and get a decent rating instead of doing it by themselves and doing “average”.

@Zyta: maybe YOU are not trying to be a troll, but CoalGuys ARE. They have no intention of making a joint. They just thought they were being funny. And don’t EVER go by the ratings on AniDB on ANYTHING. The grades are given by the users, so whoever has the biggest nerds in their fans within have the biggest grades. 1,2, and 3 should no longer be valid as grades, since there haven’t been any REAL fansubs that deserve those grades in years. To get a 3 you would have to fuck up the translation, have worse then 100 MB/episode xvid release, and the smallest font you can find. I don’t even KNOW what you have to do to deserve 2 or 1. So please, use your own eyes and ear to decide what fansub is better. Don’t be a sheep.

Well yea ok grading is done by fans, so what? Fans are the ones who watch the subs. And well I’d agree the quality has gone up a bit recently I still try to watch a show like Kyou no go no ni, and the subs aren’t bad. Now I think Chihiro gets more of a bad rap than they deserve because I’ve seen many worse groups, but its silly for people to think the Chihiro has some quality subs.

That is my point. For example, have you been to the CoalGuys website these days? It’s 20% talking about their subs, 80% bashing Chihiro. You don’t think they’ve been hitting the “1″ grades for Chihiro on every rating site there is? Going by fans ratings is retarded. You wanna see if you like something? Then WATCH IT. I don’t mean you in particular, I mean all the morons who say “I don’t download from X, cause they have a low rating on AniBD”. I’m not talking only about Chihiro, many retards do that for many groups. Like when a group is rated 6.5, and another one is rated 7.2. Some douche is gonna come and go “I haven’t seen any of the versions, but the 72 one HAS to be better, since it has a batter rating”. Well what if 70% for the ones who GAVE the rating were also retards?

I’m personally a supporter of Chihiro, even when they were in the Speed Sub days. Chihiro’s speed subs were generally better than quite a few others, like AoShen (Brick of Extinction? Celestial Beings?). Even now, I still get quite a few of Chihiro’s releases
However, in the case of ZKC episodes 1 to 14, I’m afraid I’m sticking to Deculture’s releases.

We use BS-J .m2ts files found on Perfect Dark for earlier episodes. For recent ones, we’ve been using TV-Q .ts files, also found on Perfect Dark. If that is unavailable, we use actual VFR .mp4 files submitted by x2e.

LOL, rating systems. They explain why Asu no Yoichi started as a 7.6 and is now a 5.7, and why Akikan was a 7.3 and is now a 5.99, all done by anonymous voters. Hm…
Also, lol @ MAL comment. Try reading a few comments as to why they disapprove. “Chihiro=fail. Chihiro. FAIL.” Very few about our releases, just many that automatically say that since we did it it fails. Want a good sample? Look under the Chihiro page at Zero no Tsukaima. 4 of 22 approve. Now look at the ASF-Chihiro page. 3 of 5 approve. It was 3 of 4 until recently. The thing is, Chihiro never released a ZnT episode outside of the joint. So, the same release got 4/22 for being not in a joint, 3/5 when in one, even though they were the same release.
TL;DR: Rating sites are filled with people who judge a group’s release based off of name instead of quality.

couper is the verb “to cut”. So, if I say “Je coupe”, it means “I cut”. What it is can be anything. “I cut the cake, I cut the cheese, I cut him some slack”, etc. If you make it reflexive by adding a “te”, it means to do something to yourself. So, Te couper means cut yourself.
