@Hologram:

2 main reasons.

1) The show isn’t animated in 1080p (the BD is upscaled from 720p), so there wouldn’t be a huge benefit either way.

2) A lot of our original files, like the karaokes, were done in 720p, and it would be troublesome to have to redo all those in 1080p. Downscaling is easy, but upscaling (if you want to do it properly) isn’t.

And either way, I’m sure everyone would agree that the 720p BD is billions of times better than the TV broadcast. :p
