So, this is it. Our “big” show. It’s the one we’ve been planning and working on since November to get right, and now, we’re able to release it. Expect full quality on this one. For the most part, it’s the same staff that gave you ef, though the timer and the karaokier are different.
This is a TBS show, so it airs in 4:3, and will be released in 16:9 3 weeks later on BS-i.
We are hoping to release this on Saturday mornings.

Yep, another one (me) just grabbed CoalGuys’ version… Well, at least we have a choice. They do 200MB vs. Chihiro’s 175MB (not a big deal, though – if it’s worth watching, I’ll delete TV-rips and DL DVD-rips anyway), but if it’s Chihiro’s “big” show, choice is a no-brainer. Well, I’ll go [Chihiro] on this one as well, but only for 16:9 versions if you sub them.
Another anime that will probably take til September to be fully subbed…..stupid 4:3….if we’re in such an advanced age where HD Blu-Ray Cable net or whatever should be the perceived norm, why the heck are we still broadcasting in 4:3? *sigh* 16:9 FTW!

This anime is poorer than the manga and I think you guys used Close Captions because I see a great difference in TL standards. However, you should QC more you know.

I happened to stumble upon a small mistake in the kanji part of the opening karaoke. At about 1:20 in the line ?????????? wake (?) was written as riyuu (??). It’s not a major problem requiring a version 2, but it would be nice to see it fixed for future releases.

Basically, we do J>E so our translation is closer than “those” who use C>E.

That was intentional. You know how they write words using different kanji in official lyrics scans sometimes? Well the title of the song is written as “egao no riyuu” and I figured they might have pulled that same kind of thing. So yes, it’s intentional.

CCs were used. If you mean “great difference in TL standards” I assume you mean between the two groups out so far, Chihiro and CoalGuys. CoalGuys translates from Chinese to English while Chihiro does Japanese to English with captions. Which one of those two do you think is more likely to be right?

This is also one of the 3 new shows I started watching. (Asu no Yoichi, Akikan, Minami-ke Okaeri..as well as White Album, Kurokami, Shikabane Hime Kuro, Maria Holic plus others)
Although I notice that you and Coalguys are doing Asu no Yoichi and some of the translation is different I’ll continue with yours since I like your subs more… even though I gripe about some things you guys have always done an excellent job and if I could help and translate I’d deffinitely offer my help and support.

Just wanted to say this also…
In my honest opinion we shouldn’t be bashing other sub groups, they are doing more work and putting more effort into this than us who are just downloading and watching the anime. I give alot of respect to how much work is done on each series. And yes some sub groups are better than others. It would be nice to see sub groups working together on projects, that way they might be released faster, translated better and more quality work done on them because they are not rush jobs becuase people are bitching about how slow a group is in releasing it.
Chihiro you guys/gals have always been in the top ranks becuase you take pride in your work, but as I read other comments posted… I WILL NOT diss other groups for trying. Since I can not read/understand Japanese the only way for me to watch is through sub group releases and to that I am appreciative.

16:9 is widescreen, 4:3 is not. And since it’s 2009 and most of us has widescreen monitors/TVs, it makes the video streched out when viewing 4:3 video.

I dled this episode because I thought Chihiro wouldn’t mistake good ecchi. I, too, wasn’t mistaken
Gonna watch all next episodes… though, I think anime studios should stop putting unrealistically large breasts on their female characters. Sorta insults a character you might take a shine to just because of their (non-bodily) personal qualities. Ikagura Ibuki is a type of person I would like to meet–at work, at school, just on the street–certainly not because of the large breasts.
Ecchi isn’t all about the breasts, the waist, and the loins, you know

Hi, a question about the AVI, MKV and MP4 format versions. If the file sizes are similar in size which will be the better looking version? Also for you have said -this or that- audio track in in MKV etc. but not in other.
