So, at the end of Kyou no Go no Ni, a new show was advertised. If you had paid attention, we made a style specifically for that show. We also named it minami-ke. We also hinted a new show in the K52 post. And, this is it.
Question + Answer time!
Q: What was that code?
A: Add triplets together. Then, if it says 20, it means 2 zeros. Write out 2 zeros. If it says 11, it means 1 one. Write out 1 one. The first number is quantity, second is the number to write. Then use the code to pair them up (AKA, 4-4-4-1 meant to pair the first 4 numbers together, then then next 4, then the next 4, then the next 1, etc.) You’ll have a set of base 2 numbers. Convert them to base 10. That’s the position in the alphabet of the letter. It’ll spell out minami-ke.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: I used to be a member of Moetaku fansubs, and this was the first show I ever timed. However, they failed to release a single episode, so we are. OK, that’s not the reason. It’s just a fun show!
Q: Source?
A: Episode 1 was encoded off a share raw. We may re-encode off a transport stream from Osaka, I don’t know. Episode 2+ will be off a TV Tokyo transport stream.
Q: Encode stats?
A: 230 MB 1024×576 h.264 with 128 kbps Winamp AAC and 170 MB 704×400 XviD with 192 kbps Lame MP3.

I doubt that Minami-ke and Minami-ke Okawari will be done. Hence, I might as well watch this with them, and then later replace it with Ayu.
I hope that Ayu also does Okaeri. But they’re still working on Okawari right now.

LOL In this one I have a lil expectation on one character, Makoto(if any of you have watched seasons 1 & 2). Thank you for picking this one up, this is one of my fave series of just randomness I don’t know if any other groups are goin to sub this one.

Well anyways, thanks for picking up Minami-ke Okaeri.
Hopefully it’ll try to go back towards the first season in terms of being funnier and closer to the manga, but already can see that the animation didn’t do that.
I’m sure it’ll be good anyways and you all will do a good job on it like always.

It’s Montara Gothic, which is the same as everything else in this show. It shows fine for me.

Sorry Kristen but I wouldn’t archive this. This is more of a speedsub than quality.
Whoever typesetted needs to learn how to typeset correctly.
You can see the bad typeset at 2:35-2:38- look at that move:o
Also the timings could have been done better.
And karaoke was just simple and style was bleh.

Minami-ke I wasn’t too into when I first started watching, kind of slow. But I think I’ll catch up on s1/s2 if Chihiro’s subbing this season…

Thanks for this. I hadn’t seen this one before but rather enjoyed the show and I think I’ll be following it this season with you guys. A couple small issues with the sub but nothing major (a missed sign,1-2 truncated translations, and a missing translation.) Overall, I’d give it an 8:10. Not bad.
