  1. Snak Says:

    thanks

  2. ohmy Says:

Hmm I always envision Chihiro to be the group I go for for ecchi / non-serious / comedy stuff . . . going to Chihiro for a genuine down-to-earth shoujo yuri light-novel based anime . . . should I take that leap T_T *flips coin* *downloads*

  3. Sir 0tter Says:

Quality series for a quality group… what more can be said…

    THANKS!!!!

  4. billy Says:

hmm.. i really thank you for uploading this and all but
i usually prefer .avi rather than .mkv . . .
Do you have .avi? or is this project just going to be .mkv?
I mean, i don’t mind it being .mkv, but just like .avi better.

  5. Gars Says:

I didn’t know there was a genre for shoujo and yuri.

  6. Hamlon Says:

At least AT-X is better than TBS & MBS. I hate when a series I’m watching is broadcast in that ugly 4:3 pan&scan. I’d take a shitty AT-X raw over that any day…

  7. Soichiro Says:

    @Hamlon:

Wrong answer. Furthermore, TBS and MBS broadcast Gundam 00 and other shows in beautiful HD, and only show two shows a season in 4:3, which are still far superior quality to AT-X. Meanwhile, AT-X has no HD shows and is horrible quality on everything. Your logic is made of fail.

(Oh yeah, AT-X also broadcasts 4:3 series like Ikkitousen.)

  8. Fabio Says:

    No XviD?

  9. kaguzuchi Says:

Y’all are trying for quality over speed and quantity this season right?

  10. Hamlon Says:

Well my point was that a shitty raw is better than one that’s been cropped from 16:9 to 4:3 by the broadcaster. So far I’ve watched several shows that’s gotten this treatment by TBS/MBS and it’s getting fucking annoying. I didn’t know Ikkitousen: GG was aired in 4:3 since I have little interest in the series.

I was by no means praising AT-X, just stating there are worse examples out there.

  11. chikuyo Says:

    i need ecchi 1…not shoujo.. TT…
i dun like many emotion anime… cos its really heartbreaking…..
the only sad anime i watch is clannad but because the graphic & storyline of the anime is relly good..
    BTW who cares… still DL..hehe

  12. Matt Says:

there are 3 previous seasons to this one…holy cow.

  13. Vegita1123 Says:

Thats awesome that you guys picked it up, I always thought that Yumi was going to choose the tall man hater as her little sister, but it looks like shes going to choose the other girl…oh well anyways its awesome that yall are broading your horizons with some good animes rather than just the ecchi stuff, good luck, I’ll keep supporting yall….even if your dropping skip beat T_T

  14. Rose Collector Says:

Arigatou!!!! But no AVI? AVI plese mkv sucks.

  15. Soichiro Says:

    @AVI People:

    1. Be patient.
    2. Give me 3 good reasons why MKV sucks, please.
    3. Here’s 3 good reasons why AVI sucks:

    1. Video quality is lower because it doesn’t support x264.
    2. Doesn’t support AAC audio.
    3. Doesn’t support softsubs (which also lowers video quality).

On the earlier conversation, I think the 4:3 thing might actually be a ploy to get people to buy the DVDs, lol. It’s still annoying, of course. I can’t stand watching stuff knowing the sides are cropped and always wait for the widescreen broadcasts from BS-i, so I do understand what you’re saying. However, AT-X is pretty freaking bad quality, lol.

  16. hanzo Says:

im surprised that most groups havent switched to mp4 instead of avi by now, its capable of higer quality and softsubs plus is fully supported on consoles and stuff.

  17. JDoraime Says:

And here season 3 won’t be out for another month. Well, I guess I’ll just have to save these up. :) As for .avi v. .mkv, I prefer .avi because often when I try to play .mkv episiodes the sound and video become painfully out of sync.

  18. Silverthorne Says:

    1. MKV has only a few programs that allow them to play on a computer.
    2. MKV are usually much larger than AVI.
    3. (personally) MKV create errors on my computer after the first one plays. The second will always create a fault in WMP.

  19. desu Says:

    @Silverthorne

Why the fuck are you using WMP? Use CCCP Codec, and WMPC, jesus christ.

  20. Vladson Says:

    Oh my god !!!
    That’s something I did’t expect…

    Respect !!! Respect !!! Respect !!!

  21. Soichiro Says:

    @Silverthorne

    1. MKV can be played in nearly any application that plays AVIs if you have the codec installed.
    2. MKVs of the same resolution are in fact usually smaller than AVIs.
    3. Get CCCP and don’t use WMP.

  22. LOLTheTallManHanter Says:

You mean Kanako “I-want-to-be-Mizore-from-R+V” stalker right? If you watched the OVA I don’t know if you’d have gotten that impression

  23. Damian Says:

guys… now is 2009, everyone in home have a good pc for mkvs O.o
i saw the ep, and i dont like it xD!!
    just not my tipe :p
    anyways thx

  24. 123 Says:

1: MKV cannot be played on xbox360/PS3/PSP
2: MKV are annoying to hardsub
3: MKV lags most peoples computers.

  25. Silverthorne Says:

MKV are usually not supported by dvd players. yes I burn my anime to dvd. A friend of mine likes to watch anime, but does not have a computer.

  26. xxdestinyzz Says:

hope that u guy will release AVI soon

  27. Rose Collector Says:

    1:MKV is bigger than AVI
    2:MKV lags
3:MKV can’t be watched on BS player the best of all video players

  28. DmonHiro Says:

    @avi fags:

    1. The container has nothing to do with the file size. I could encode this episode in 500 MB avi or 200 MB mkv, if I wanted to. Also, avi: 704×396, mkv: 1024×576. Gee…..I wonder who has a bigger fileseize?

    2. MKV is a container, it can not lagg. H264 USED IN the contaier laggs because you either have a crap computer, can’t install codecs, or use a POS player. Most likely, all of the above.

    3. Bullshit Player is not the best player in the world, but even it CAN play mkv, if the user has a brain, that is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bs_player

    4. MKV is hard to hardsub. Well DUH……it was made for softsubs. That’s like saying a PS3 is hard to emulate. IT WANS’T MEANT TO DO THAT. Of course it’s hard.

Bottom like, avi is going down, and I’m happy to help it along. Join the 2009 and learn to use codecs

  29. Zig Says:

so i have a slow pc and every mkv lags now does it mean i’m a fag

  30. Soichiro Says:

    1. For those of you who haven’t noticed, the mkv for Marimite is 130MB. If you think that’s bigger than a standard AVI, you are stupid or have probably never watched a fansub before and either way you should stop making yourself look retarded.

    2. If your computer can’t play 704×396 MKVs (Marimite), you need to go out and upgrade to one that was built within the last 15 years.

    3. I don’t care about playing stuff on the PS3, etc., so you guys can have fun with that.

  31. JDoraime Says:

Thank you for providing another very good reason for favoring .avi.

    1) Audio and visual components of .mkv files are painfully out of sync.
    2) .avi files play correctly without expensive upgrades.

  32. Kristen Says:

By all means, a 130 MB 704×396 h.264 MKV CFR 23.976 fps should play on nearly ANY computer, regardless of age.

  33. xibo Says:

    @soichiro:
my pentium 3 500mhz probably has trouble with marimite’s mkv and it’s not 15 years old :O
    @everyone else:
mkv is a container, and a more realistic one then avi, since it has distinct data regions for audio , video and subtitles, unlike AVI which just throws them all together. furthermore does the file size between avi and mkv only differ in terms of a few kilobytes independent of video length.
and MKV has no troubles at all with hardsubs, because hardsubs aren’t subs – they’re part of the images the video is made of, and MKV can contain any video format AVI can contain, so every avi can be converted by just putting together video and audio ( since they’re mixed together in avi ). it’s MKV -> AVI converting where subs become troublesome because you have to reencode the video stream to “hardsub” which will ultimately reduce the video quality.
also can MKV not be out of sync – AVI can. MKV encodes different streams with given frequencies and the player relies on the operating system to be able to replay the data in the given frequency. AVI however can crap up completely if the chunks aren’t put together propperly. and it’s also a lot cheaper in terms of system access overheat to have video and audio or subtitles played back at different speeds in MKV then in AVI because the streams are in distinct ranges of the hard disk, while in AVI they’re thrown together to be in the same range, so you’ll be getting your aah so performant insequencial filehandle accesses which are even faster if the hardware doesn’t have alot of caches to compensate for it.
and my windows media player CAN play mkv.
if the xbox can’t play mkv it’s not meaning mkv isn’t superior any more. of cause can the xbox do avi because avi is from microsoft ( if you think back it was called “video for windows” 15 years ago ). even if you’re watching avi, the xbox will be running the avi in compatibility mode only and it’s sampling is worse then your pc’s as it only puts the video into textures and renders a quad with the texture on it ( read: does trilinear filtering ), so you should be re-encoding the video to have the dimensions of the xbox’s output image anyway…

  34. EricT Says:

    Dah I like Cake!

  35. JDoraime Says:

@ Kristen: After a brief test, I concede that Maria sama is not a problematic .mkv. Audio and visual match up even several minutes into the sub.

  36. Xdroyer Says:

I just want to ask AVI fans out ther if thet have tested CCCP and are using the right codec? I have a crapy comp:
    1.6 Ghz singel core
    1G RAM
So tell me why can I run MKV files without any out of sync problem wit CCCP? <.< Just give CCCP a chance and you will see that its much better.

  37. Xdroyer Says:

sorry for bad english btw <.<

  38. loltechnical Says:

@xibo – yeah, people think that mkv translates to “bad for older computers” but it’s really up to the encoder.

An encoder can stick XviD in an mkv and it’ll play fine, in fact there are people that have done it. I have a Core2 DUO running at 1.6 GHZ with 2GB of RAM and a 256MB of VRAM gfx card and I had issues with R+VCAPU2 at times.

Regardless, at this point in time with the advent of Blu-Ray and the elimination of analog cable, the world is moving in the direction of high-definition.

Computers that can’t handle x264 encoding just aren’t being made anymore. Fansubbers are just keeping up with the times.

Asking for AVI is the same as asking for video tapes back when DVD’s first started coming out. Just chill out and wait.

  40. Soichiro Says:

TBH I don’t know why we gave you whiners an xvid after all the whining you did. I did tell you all to be patient, as well. By the way, when I asked for “good reasons why mkv sucks”, I meant “good reasons”, not “lame excuses so I can either keep my 10 year old piece of crap computer or play it on my PS3 or just be too lazy to do a little work in installing the right codecs”. I’m glad so many people understood that part.

Oh yeah, I am angry. All the time. I’m an angry soul who has nothing better to do than debate with people on internet forums. inb4 special olympics poster.

  41. dsa Says:

Do you guys plan to release a higher quality version of this later (if higher quality raws are available)?

  42. JPJones Says:

XviD – Domo arigato. I live with my PSP on the road and XviD is absolutely the best when it comes to formatting for that platform. I have yet to find a program that will let me take an mkv file and make a good PSP format.

  43. desu Says:

Now, why the fuck are you watching anime on the PSP/PS3? The PSP is like watching on a NDS, and who the fucks watch something on an NDS? And the PS3 is PS3. Same with Xbox/wii and don’t even fucking mention the Ipod/mobile.

Wtf is wrong with your computer screen? If you like your TV screen more just buy some fucking cables and connect the PC to that screen, why the fuck should other people suffer because you’re some emo bitch that “don’t have the time” to do it yourself because you’re browsing porn all day.

    FUCK.

  44. Solren Says:

TBH i prefer AVI for the simple reason i use ERMP to convert them to RMVB. Reducing the file size down to 75-82mb with very little quality loss. This means i get to store more anime on my comp :D

If i wanted the highest quality stuff out there i’d buy the DVD’s, and i do for the shows i like. I don’t mind mkv’s, since i can convert them to avi’s, but i prefer avi’s.

  45. DmonHiro Says:

@Solren: BUY A FREAKING HDD WITH MORE THEN 4 GB on it. How cheap can you be if you have to make an anime episode into a 85 mb POS to keep in on your PC? This is beyond absurd. RMVB????? ARE YOU FOR REAL???

  46. JPJones Says:

Hey desu, why PSP. Like I said, I’m on the road – alot. Whereever I am, I can access my home computer, convert files and the upload to the PSP which I can carry in my pocket. When I’m waiting for a meeting or what not, it’s right there. I have an oversize battery that gives me 10 hours between charges. Laptop is just to big and a power hog.

  47. Solren Says:

i have plenty of space (3x500gb) but why keep a file at 170mb when i can reduce it to 75 easily with RMVB without loss of quality?

  48. Jaka Says:

    he’s got a point dickmonhiro

  49. Digimike Says:

MKV doesn’t lag, your computer just can’t handle a high resolution video. 264 does make encodes smaller file sizes, those that think xvid files are smaller don’t realize you’re downloading much lower quality resolution files ;) Also since mkv is a container…we can turn off the subs and such which some of us appreciate.

I use the VistaCodecs pack (don’t like cccp as much) and wmp plays everything perfectly for me.

  50. Soichiro Says:

Hi Jaka, enjoying the cock lately?

  51. JDoraime Says:

A useful alternative might be to make a second .mkv file available at a lower resolution (on par with this episode) for the higher resolution series. I’m assuming making a second .mkv is easier than encoding an .avi.

  52. xibo Says:

dmon is right, you can try to not be wasty without considering how much resources actually are left. however, if his RMVB converting really has such a high quality output, aren’t HQ input sources required to make full use of it?

  53. DmonHiro Says:

@jaka: no, he doesn’t. He’s not even CLOSE to having a point.

Lord, thous garden overflowes with idiots, does it not?

  54. ? Says:

    @Soiren

to convert files that are approximately 169MB to RMVB files while you have a (3×500gb) hard drive?

    that’s beyond stupid you fail

  55. robert Says:

umm…h264 is like a million times better and it does work on consoles you just have to convert the format to .mp4 or avi and you can put it on basically anything like for me i use my .mp3 player because i dont have enough time to sit down and watch on the computer

  56. Rinu Says:

Hi, thanks for the release and your hard work!

  57. Matta Says:

    ‘sup Fags

  58. KrfT Says:

HI there, i want to know if someone knows where can i find the fisrt Two Seasons including the OVA(if possible) of this series. I want to start from the very bottom. Thanks for everything.

  59. Keiran Says:

    Thanks for the sub!

As for Avi vs. Mkv well I personally download the avi versions. Yes my computer can handle mkv’s, yes I have every codec known to man. I prefer avi’s for there universal point. Right now mkv’s are like Blu ray. Yeah it’s better overall, yeah it’s totally awesome but they can be a pain to deal with when you want to use it on say a PSP or transfer it to your PS3/XBOX. Oh for the console hating guy, computers don’t convert as well to TV’s as consoles do, plain and simple fact. Besides I like to keep my media players to a minimum. Oh before I forget, compressing files with little quality loss is a great idea. I have a 1.5 terabyte hard drive literally filled with anime. It’s great being in college :P .

  60. OmniStrata Says:

Playing stuff on your consoles is for people who don’t have those HDMI HDTV setup to their computers.

I don’ t know about you but even with a good job snagging that awesome 1080p 61in. samsung tv isn’t necessarily an easy thing considering other bills to pay

That and well, .mp4 is my vote for ‘the format’ to be used. It has the quality capabilities of mkv AND THEN it also plays on all the consoles for those who want their anime to be watched from their living room sofa…

    .mp4 ftw!

  61. Fe Says:

I’ve been looking at the different versions of the fansubs of Maria 4th season and Chihiro definitely did the best job with the subtitling and translations; however, the sound is really soft and I have to turn the volume up quite loud on my computer just to hear it. Is there any way I can fix this?

  62. pig2cat Says:

    KrFT: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1543413 season 1 , 2 and ovas

  63. Alphabetical Order Says:

“By all means, a 130 MB 704×396 h.264 MKV CFR 23.976 fps should play on nearly ANY computer, regardless of age.”

I can’t play them. And yes I acknowledge my computer is quite old (AMD thunderbird 1 GHz bought 7 years ago, and a crappy video card). Anyway this is not really a problem, it fits most of my uses. Before watching a MPEG-4 AVC file (H264), I just convert it to MPEG-1 at 3 Mbps or more depending on the video resolution. MPEG-1 is fast to decode so it’s ok. It produces a big file but you can trash it after use.

  64. Mmdott Says:

    Thanks for the sub!
    People should stop complaining

  65. anttown Says:

Hi! Thnx for all your work. I have one negative thing about Maria sama ga miteru 4th season first episode that you guys encoded and that is, the sharp lines gets kind of unstable(?) when the charachters´s moving. Should it be so (probobly not) or is it my computer that cant handel this video from you guys?
It´s kind of irritateing for my eyes… Maybe just my imagination but i still keep seeing it.
So Should the sharp lines be unstable or not?
