OK, so about this episode. The OP is literally flipped upsidedown. How would you like the karaoke? We can either flip it 180 degrees with the rest of the OP, which naturally would make it hard to read (Unless you can read upsidedown), or we can have it as usual, which would take away from the upsidedown effect given by the creators?

I would suggest following suit and making it upside-down. Most people skip over the OP anyway, and if they really want to know what is being said, they could just as easily watch it on a different episode. So I vote for upside-down.

If you want it the way creators intended it to be, you wouldn’t add anything else to it. English doesn’t need to be translated to English. You can already sing along with the other episodes, so it won’t matter if they’re not here this time. Let us stare at the unadultered graphics in all their glory. Or, I could just disable the subs while watching the OP… XP

This is a tough call because since the OP is sung in English you could just omit the OP karaoke. As I haven’t seen the raw for episode 8 yet I tweaked ffdshow to flip and mirror the video then watched the OP for episode 7 upside down for comparison. The effect wasn’t bad. I liked the karaoke being at the top and the remnants of the words disappearing off the top of the screen right to left. I think either option works so it’s up to your personal preference. I always watch the OP and ED songs.

But I wonder why the creators/ producers/director(s) of this show have made the OP of this particular episode upside-down…….I guess its a warning to suggest some of the character’s lives are about to be abruptly turned upside down, if not already……….can’t wait for this. XDDD
But did you notice that the OPs of this series have gradually/slightly changed from episode to episode, they either use different colouring or different versions of the same OP. However, in the first season, they just changed the OP and ED accordingly to the plot…….a bit like Kaze no Stigma, where the ED changed between the happy and the more “serious” one depending on the noet that the episode ended. Also, I guess they’re doing a bit more playing around with the actual OP itself to nudge us and make sure we try to “decipher” the title of the second season…..”melodies” is playing a big part in this anime. =)

Well since ef is in for 08th episode, and i have seen the OP 7 times (not including rewatches etc). I dont really mind which way it is, but following the creative direction is a good choice imo, so i vote for upside down!

Upside down or none at all. Might be a good idea to do it upside down, then see what kind of effect that has. If it’s just… ridicoulus, I would take it out. This isn’t really a ‘funny’ anime; if they’ve made the OP upside down some serious shit must be going down in the episode.

@subj: if you really need karaoke, turn it upside down (I mean having text at the same X/Y position as usual, but flipped – this way people won’t be confused about their codecs). Though I’d omit karaoke at all: it’s distracting enough even in normal way, and will twice distracting being flipped. Not to mention it’s English anyway..

I know this is a little late to say, but I’ve noticed a mistake in the translation of ep 7 (I think that is the one): the point where yuu talks to mizuki and says “If Kuze were to truly wanted to face the other way…” sth is wrong in the syntax there. And some minutes later yuu says “It’s good that you feel confident about him, but don’t forget to trust him”- I think a “not” is missing (not to trust him)
But generally you guys make very good fan-subbing, thank you for your hard work!

With the karaoke you could put the words upside down as well as correctly put!!! (at the same time) or let the words rotate =P …. But for me I should not make karaoke now (make karaoke in a version 2 perhaps) .
