I wanna play all Chihiro’s releases on my 50″ plasma >.< but without HD it pixelates too much

Yo. My computer can play mkvs and such just fine, despite being old. [dual core s939 opteron OC'ed and a 7600GT SLi setup]

But I noticed that only one person mentioned xbox.

I use my Xbox360 to play the files and MKVs don’t play on xbox. [soft subs aren't part of TVersity's abilities to transfer] and I love watchin’ anime as it was meant to be. [on my freakin' tv]

I’m on the .mp4 boat. It doesn’t need to be 1280×720 or other HD format [filesizes too ginormous] But 640×480 or something to that effect won’t bother my TV in the slightest.

Who the hell watches stuff on a computer?

TV programs should be watched on a television, and for that you need a set-top-box.

The most flexible one at the moment is XBMC, and the easiest way to install that is to chip an Xbox. You totally can roll your own MMPC and Linux distribution, but while XBMC is crash-only, Linux is not. So if you want something that switches on and off in less than ten seconds, then XBMC/Xbox is the say to go. This precludes h.264

But not HD; the only issue with HDTV XviD is that it’s rather large. I think we’ll agree that this isn’t a problem, as storage and bandwidth are cheap now.

FWIW, I transcode stuff with mencoder, because I don’t enjoy being beholden to other people.

You release Xvid just fine; I don’t know who the hell would post something like that. I’m even thankful since you still release in xvid alongside with h264 since the majority of fansubs release in h264. Btw, I can play h264 with no problems; I simply want to archive so I’m looking for xvid.

the problem is old computer, urself.. do something about it rather blaming others for it.. wth.. when its time to upgrade your frikking pc, do it.. if u dont then stop blaming on the subber who had been doing a good job.. and if u are that desperate and don’t wish to wait, do it yourself.. it arent hard to find RAW series and softsubs.. darn..
