Please welcome in new show number two for the fall, Kyou no Go no Ni. Maybe it’s just our nature to be attracted to lolis or something?
Funny thing about this project is that we decided like a month ago to do it. Then we dropped it to pick up Akane Iro. Then we switched Akane Iro’s TLer and ZKC’s TLer. Then we dropped Akane and switched the Akane TLer back to ZKC. And now the TLer originally on this project is doing it again. Ah well. XD
Release schedule will be a bit different than normal. On Sunday nights or Monday morning’s, we’re intending to release a pre-release, because raws for this show seem to be slow. This is a 704X400 pre-release. That means it is translated, timed, and edited, softsubbed onto the first decent raw available in h.264 format. Then we will spend 1-2 days doing an edit pass 2 on it, and maybe even a QC. At this point, it will be encoded onto the best raw available at 1280X720 or higher resolution into a 1280X720 h.264 or a 704X400 XviD. We’ll also fix issues you guys pick out such as mistimed lines and such. Basically, this is a DCIISS release type schedule. We will add a karaoke once the CD is released in Japan, or when we get CC’s of the OP.
To answer the questions about Kannagi, it was a possible series, but the archaic Japanese was a bit much. We may pick it up later if sub groups start stalling, but no guarentees.

Kyou no Go no Ni…hmm. this anime somekind bores me. Kannagi, Hyakko, To Aru Majutsu no Index more interested than this. Anyway, i think there are many fans of this anime. Good luck.

Basically it’s a slow paced non ecchi (TV censored?) version of the OVA with lesser visual quality. For now, I don’t get why someone decided to produce this show.

isn’t this just another verion of an older show? the older one whas better, the chars looked a bit older and the jokes where drawn a lot more fun especially the superball thing whas hilarious but they made it non-ecchi in the newer version.
The older version would’ve been better for you guys:p

Wow, the character design is crap compared to the OAV’s. Though there are a couple shots that bring back the memories. That aside, thanks for the subs.

I loved the original OVAs and the manga its a bit awkward with the new character designs and voices I hope the series does them justice.
On another note when Kazumi was talking about what shes been chewing on she mentions poochi at 5:58 Ryouta says Inou.. “Your dog!?”

Haha, glad to see this get picked up by a terrific group. Though I was disappointed that the content of the show itself was repetitive of events that happened in the OVA (3/4 periods repeated/modernized), hopefully more “new” plots will take place

Not sure what to say about the show. It’s been less than a year since i’ve seen the OVA and that was awesome. But this remake is a bit off… It’s hard to get past the simple character design since it’s just simply bad compared to the older version.
On the other hand, the show seems very refreshing with the innocent/normal children theme, even if the ecchi is left out. The fact that they remade the old periods is a bit of an annoyance, but it’s great to see new “sketches”. The one with the umbrella was really nice, though i was hoping that the girls will grab Ryota’s arms and walk around a bit..
In any case i haven’t made up my mind about this show just yet, but thank you Chihiro for picking it up! You guys are great!

this series is funny as hell imo. although they have toned down a bit of the jokes and ecchiness from the manga and OAVs but its still really good

As far as I’ve seen, Chihiro has released pretty decent enough TLs in the past, but comments at fansub rating sites say your TL sucks ass for this series. I’d consider the comments the typical bashing from haters, but even some fans of yours who’ve been following your releases say the same. Do I have to believe them?

This might just be me and my crappy video card, but I noticed some corruption in the 720p version. For example the scene that starts at 19:55. Anyone else?… Shows up in WMP and VLC

I thought the ASF/Chihiro joint group was great. They were doing the best job for ZnT3 until they dropped it. I hope the same tandem could work for Kyou no Go no Ni.

Yeah, I’ve noticed the corruption on the 720p version too.
Was at 19:55, I’ve noticed some corruption at 20:11-12, 21:15, and 23:12 aswell.

For me, I’ve never watched any previous series or OVAs related to this title, so this is a completely new series for me.
As for me I’m using GOM player, and there is a bit of corruption in the said minutes and seconds. But nothing that’ll make me stop laughing or stop supporting Chihiro. I hope Chihiro keeps up the 720p.
Personally, I think that if you have the basic knowledge of Japanese phrases, there’s no real BIG problem whether the translators use a different choice of words that essentially means the same thing.
