I confess I don’t understand all this drama. Chihiro puts out good fansubs. Trolls put out written abuse. One of thse I come here for and enjoy. The other is not worthy of my attention. Chihiro is the only fansub group who has gained my attention in a positive way. I would miss it if it were gone.

I still do not understand why so many people hate Chihiro. Phrases such as “its quality is shit” is not enough for me. Maybe Kristen had a fight in the past with some guys that now are trying to make her angry. For me Chihiro is a valid alternative when I want to see anime. So far I saw TLR, Sekirei, Macross, Penguin and ZKC and I am quite grateful for they job.

Okay, I watch Zettai Karen Children with the VLC player (the only player I have that will play MKV) but the Sub Titles are HUGE and sometimes take up half the screen. When I go into the properties and try to make them smaller nothing happens. I can change the color of them though. Any ideas how to make them smaller if the player itself won’t do it?

Reliclord I strongly recommend cccp codec pack and zoom player ( part of the pack) works great for me. I’ve heard a lot of people with complaints about VLC.

What win! A joke and a release. You rock, that’s all. Oh, and that “quality” crap people are spouting…? Time has nothing to do with quality. A sub done in a week can be better than one done in a month, or a year shinsen. The whole justification for fansubs is that JPN and US production companies take too long to release to the US market. If you can’t even get a series subbed before it’s coming out on R1, then what’s the point? You really are stealing from the artists in Japan at that point. Oh, and don’t even get me started on those “quality” groups that begin subbing a show then drop it because “it sucked” or they “lost interest” or whatever. So far, Chihiro has been good quality, keeping to their schedule, fast, communicative with fans, and has basically acted exactly how a fansub group should in order to build a huge, loyal base of fans… which is precisely what is happening (in case you care to check the numbers instead of just trolling because your left hand has nothing to do while you wait for /b/ and danbooru to update).

I like anime and there are so many groups out there. I always go with the group that stays with the japan release of the anime or if they are the only one subbing it in English. it is a pain when a group does dies out but some times it can’t be helped. The main ppl that keep the group alive are the Tl er b/c without them there is no group. Also the more Tl er there are the more shows they can do. Some ppl still does not understand what it take to sub an anime and how much of Kristen’s time goes in to running this group along with the others that help her. I support chihiro and any group willing to bring me anime with English subs. I don’t care if it is what ppl call quality sub or if there speed subs as long as there are groups bring me the anime I like to watch.

Gotta agree with Brian, without fansub groups most of us would have to learn Japanese to get our anime fix. Chihiro does a decent enough job, and the effort they all put in is always appreciated. If anyone thinks they can do better, they should go ahead and give it a try. If you disagree with their work look elsewhere, don’t waste your time whining and complaining here.

It’s been 5 days since this episode was released and STILL NO AVI VERSION. It shouldn’t take this long even with staff shortages.
