Normally, a release means a lot of excitement and celebration. It means people are happy, and everything is going well. But, to me, this release really is not a happy one. It’s sad. To Love Ru is over. We started subbing it when Chihiro was only 13 days old, and we’ve never missed a week. I think the latest we ever were in a release was Monday, because of a complete staff change.
To Love Ru has gone through a style change, a staff change, a capper arrest, a trip to China, Real life issues of changing locations, a few transport streams that worked, a few transport streams that failed, multiple encoders, a widescreen and fullscreen release, and even a v2 or two. And it’s been on our to do chart for 145 days out of the 158 days of our existance. It defined Chihiro, and it’s the only thing left linking us to the beginning.
Well, out with the old and in with the new. Clannad begins airing next week, and I fully and truly support Sprocket Hole Subs with their effort to translate it. Chihiro will not pick Clannad up, do not ask for it. There are multiple reasons why, and I will not go into them.
I’d like to thank a couple of people for making this project possible. First is Kylaran, who rescued this project from the depths of hell once Jaka left. It may not have been the easiest show to translate, but he was smiling all the way through it. Second is Mauneydy-kun, who is still pushing through the releases, even if the encodes are beginning to frustrate him. Third is to the various people who came through for jobs like editing and timing, and to those who helped us out when a regular had to leave for a week. And lastly, I’d like to thank all of you for your continual support and guidence through this show.
Kylaran: So, I wanted to be able to post on the last ep of this series. TLR 14 was the first episode of anime I ever translated as a completely solo project (as in, it wasn’t something I just TLC’d), and it was quite fun. I’m glad that Kristen forcefully commandeered me into working on this series, which ended up being extremely stupid, but also somewhat enjoyable. Thanks to all those who’ve enjoyed following our releases. And even bigger thanks to the staff that made this all work out. Enjoy!
Now, we’ll just shut up and give you the releases:
h.264: Haruna-chan~
XviD: For those who prefer 33 MB compressed to 175 MB uncompressed audio.

Congrats on finishing the series and looking forward to other series ya’ll work on.
September 27th, 2008 at 6:36 am
To the users who are having problems with playing mkv, try googling Media Player Classic.
September 27th, 2008 at 6:37 am
Thx a lot Chihiro, I loved this show. Also World Dest is gonna finish next week so I hope you’ll give us some new shows of this upcoming season that makes us laugh and cry from joy as the ones you have been subbing since your birth.
September 27th, 2008 at 6:37 am
i used BS. Player and that worked =)
September 27th, 2008 at 6:54 am

September 27th, 2008 at 7:04 am

September 27th, 2008 at 7:14 am

September 27th, 2008 at 7:43 am
Thank you so much for subbing this anime and To-love Ru was an awesome series it is a shame that it is over.
September 27th, 2008 at 7:48 am
Congratz, Kristen! A great ending to a great anime. Thank you and your team for a fantastic job subbing it (among many other animes).
September 27th, 2008 at 8:02 am
Late to the party, (again) but thanks very much for subbing this series! It’s been *very* entertaining
September 27th, 2008 at 8:30 am
otsukareta sama deshita
(thanks for your hrad work..) was that translated correctly?
Chihiro Banzai!!
September 27th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Wow…it couldnt be more obvious that the end of this episode was a setup for season 2. They might of well just put “See you in season 2″ at end of episode <_<
September 27th, 2008 at 9:17 am
rena: they usually wait to see if the show was popular enough to warrant a 2nd season with the locals (aka japanese ppl) tho seki proved that t be a tad wrong lol the manga story goes much further in any case lol
September 27th, 2008 at 9:18 am
o and good job to the crew
September 27th, 2008 at 9:38 am
to the people having trouble viewing this - download Media Player Classic and Vista Codec Pack (note vista codec pack doesnt mean it will only work on vista it’s just a name), install Vista Codec Pack and view the episodes via Media Player Classic. And then there will be no probs
September 27th, 2008 at 10:00 am
TLR Banzai
T^T Ave Chihiro
September 27th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Yayze! You subbed ToLoveRu all the wai thru!
Wah! T_T It’s over! Hopin’ on a season 2!
;_; You STILL…never did a Kareoke for this show! (tho you DID say you weren’t…who ever
beleives a fansub group? )
@beefstew and others…I can’t beleive nobody suggested this…
FOR PLAYING MKV FILES…listen up. Google CCCP. Follow the instructions (when
all else phails, right?) and then PLAY using Media Player Classic. Works liek a charm…
I couldn’t play mkv files UNTIL I did this - and lemme tella ya - the anime providing
your groups namesake was impossible to watch correctly until I did so.
Ennywho…great job, thanks for finishing this goofy series…partway thru it a couple
times I almost wondered why I watched and then next ep it would pull a rabbit from
a hat and get all fresh and surprising once again…summoning ep 26 as I write this.
ARIGATOU GOSAIMASU!!!!!
~(P.S. And all for jiggly alien babes - what would the world be without them?)~
September 27th, 2008 at 11:04 am
thnx very mucb ^ ^
September 27th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
I loved this show… I’m very very sad… but you guys are great, thanks for everything.
P.S. I hope they’ll make a second season, and I think it’s quite sure they’ll make one…
September 27th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Congrats on finishing another series. Your work is truly appreciated. Thanks to all of you!
September 27th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Thanks for all the hard work! Good luck with future anime and ill be glad to help seed O_o
September 27th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Lol this show definitely defined CHIHIRO and its a bitter/sweet feeling that it ended. I’m happy that the ending was how it was and as others before me “2 Love-Ru” anyone? ^_^
Btw, I’m looking forward to Kono Aozora and hope that it will be finished before the Fall starts. Its been long overdue…
Looking forward to “Akasaka”, “Chaos;Head” and “ef” this fall as well! Btw will you guys speed sub any of this?
Finally, you guys think you can squeeze in the Lucky Star OVA before fall? Just a thought ^_^
Once again thanks for you work and this group has definitely been one of my staples in the anime scene.
September 27th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Wow! Another serie finished. Not bad for a team that started a couple of months ago. You do realize that you have quite few series finished, very unusual for a group that still can be considered young. So congratulations for another job well done. And i hope you will be around for a couple of years.
September 27th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
No subs? Downloaded h.264 like i always go. The sub tack is checked. But no subs!
September 27th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Sad news, just sad… (hope there’l be a second season…)
September 27th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Mm, fixed it! Ignore my problem =p
September 27th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Thanks to everyone over the past 26 weeks. This has been an excellent and fun series to watch so thank you for all your efforts. And a double congrats on your first completed series, I will look forward to future releases by yourselfs and all the best to everyone behind the scenes that made this possible!!
Thanks again!
September 27th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
since there is a lull in the subbing will you guys be doing the Lucky Star OAV?
September 27th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Thanks alot for the episode, and even more for the past months of entertainment :).
September 27th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
thank you for the great job Chihiro, any news about TLR movie? and I also thing there is gonna be a SS, there is a picture on the official website with rito, lala, haruna etc wearing new school uniforms.
September 27th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
anywhere i can get episodes 1-20? all the torrents for those no longer exist o.O
September 27th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
also where is 25? =)
September 27th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
i hate torrent!
but i really love this series very mush
September 27th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
ITS OVER T.T
September 27th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
This episode is based very loosely on ch 48 of the manga. If you take out “the earth will be destroyed” and all the action scenes, you will get the original intent of the author.
September 27th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
I think the playback problem is partially due to the audio sample frequency of 32000. In my case, the other factors is my envy sound card and its sample rate setting. When I had this setting on auto, I had slow playback. Setting it to 44100 or 48000 solved this problem. Note: previous episodes were encoded with 48000.
September 27th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Oh dang it. =( to love-ru is over. oh man I miss it already =(
September 28th, 2008 at 2:12 am
uh… will there be a complete torrent of episodes? It’s really appreciated if there’s one
September 28th, 2008 at 6:51 am
chihiro, you did a great job with this series. can’t thank you enough and can’t wait for the WS versions of the last few episodes!!!
September 28th, 2008 at 7:54 am
[EDITED to remove spoiler] overall a great anime if you exclude the episodes where they weren’t that exciting! thanks chihro!!!!
btw, will there be any batches for the XViD version?
September 28th, 2008 at 10:35 am
Hi chihiro
thank you for subbing and not dropping To Love Ru.
Haruna was my favorite character
September 28th, 2008 at 11:21 am
Thanks! For all the wonderful episodes
September 28th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
I too can’t wait for the WS version - I didn’t download “normal” version becouse I could watch it in WS version, so I will wait for it
Coul you say when it (last few eps) will be released?
September 28th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
Oi! Luke-chan - could you liek, mark your spoilers a bit?
Ennywho…
Just watched this - between ToLoveRu ending - the way the ep went AND…
Paul Newman passing today (yeah, I know, NO COMPARISON!)
A bittersweet sunday.
Ima miss this series - from what people keep writing about there being so much moar
manga, there’s definitely enuf material to keep it going. Of course, they probably veered
so far away from the original manga…
Not for nothing, and I would be remiss if I left this lil comment off.
Hmmm…
Rito Yuki-kun is a healthy young man, athletic and all that…
For all his attachment to Haruna-chan…
If a smexy bit of moe-blob alien kept accidently waking up in MAH bed naked…
Much plukage would ensue.
~(but then again - when does reality EVAH play a part in anime???)~
~(p.s. the dream sequence solution? Oh yeah…works for me!)~
September 28th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
@Chihiro
VLC does not play the subtitle because at the Aegisub track the line
“Style: Default,Arial,20,…..” appears. After demuxing, simply removing this unused style definition, and remuxing (23.98 fps ??) the subtitles works absolute perfect within VLC.
@others
P.S. nothing aganst MPC. Only i don’t like so called ‘codec Packs’ who installs a mass of codecs system wide into a stable system.
September 28th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
Thank you for all for your excellent work in TLR. I just wish there was a second season
September 29th, 2008 at 2:11 am
Dude, guys, 26 episodes in and you’re getting names wrong? Haruna’s friend is Risa (alternately some say Lisa, though I don’t know why), not Misa.
Is it so much to ask that you make sure your translators KNOW THE CHARACTERS’ NAMES?
September 29th, 2008 at 2:50 am
It was an accident on my part. Yes, her name is Risa, but it’s not like we’ve gotten it wrong everytime she appeared in the series. One-time mistake. Thanks for your, er, understanding.
September 29th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Someone call her Lisa because, I think, it’s her real name, in japanese there isn’t “L” so they use a R, like Lala = Rara
September 29th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Thanks so much for this subbing this!!! you guys are really awesome!!!
September 29th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
Will there be batches for the To-Love-Ru Widescreen version you guys have up in your DD section?
I’ve got all the non-WS h.264 version but would love to get them all in WS without having to download each episode seperately.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:20 am
WTB a h264 batch!
Saw on Ayako’s IRC channel yesterday that they dropped it, idiots. >_<
October 1st, 2008 at 6:33 am
Thanks a lot for subbing this series. Much appreciated!
October 7th, 2008 at 3:56 am
Thanks for this series.
I noticed there are WS and full screen releases, but only the full screen one is actually complete.
Do you plan on releasing the remaining chapters in WS? (23 to 26)
Thanks !
October 9th, 2008 at 4:03 am
Yeah! I finally saw the last episode, and it reamins funny until the end! Goog job Chihiro for subbing this series. Here’s hoping for a second season!
Also, I agree with Hoshi: I would like to request WS version of the last few episodes. Hopefully they will come out soon!
October 19th, 2008 at 12:42 am
Yeah, hopefully a WS is still going to be released. I haven’t downloaded the non-WS version yet because I’m waiting for the WS version. Anyways, keep up the good work!
October 19th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
Thanks a lot for this series.
Are you guys planning to release the rest of the WS-h.264 episodes in DD (20-26)?
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:41 am
When u all gonna release WS version for ep.23~26? I have been waiting for ages. I don’t want to download the normal size, it feels weird when change screen size after getting used to WS…… Hopefully release it A.S.A.P.
Thanks.
November 1st, 2008 at 9:39 am
I hope you didn’t drop the WS version. Keep up the good work!
November 2nd, 2008 at 4:02 pm
holy crap… the last two episodes were breath taking. hell… I want a second season
Another roller-coaster ride. The best anime I’ve watched yet (I’m picky with animes)
==SPOILER ALERT==
So what happened to Lala’s Dad after she used that wipe memory invention of hers? I mean, everyone remembered.
